Ken Alt has more than 42 years of UTC / industry experience, the last ten years of which have been focused exclusively on the teaching and deployment of quality principles. He has held a variety of positions in Engineering, Training and Quality, including a two year assignment in Singapore as Engineering Training Manager for Otis’ Pacific Asia Operations (PAO). He has applied strong leadership skills and sound quality principles throughout his career to promote a working environment focused on performance improvement and customer satisfaction. Shirley B.Ellis
Shirley B.Ellis has held a variety of positions over the course of her 30 years at Pratt & Whitney in Manufacturing, Supervision, Human Resources, Composite Engineering, and Quality. Mrs. Ellis has been working in the area of business process improvement for more than 12 years. She was part of the original team that developed and implemented the operating system called Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) for business processes at Pratt & Whitney. The ACE system is responsible for identifying and eliminating waste in business processes throughout the company. Walter Hall
Walter Hall has more than 37 years experience in Continuous Improvement, Industrial Engineering and Employee Training and Development, with 29 years in various management capacities. Mr. Hall joined Pratt & Whitney in 1982 at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida as an Industrial Engineer with USBI, a former P&W division responsible for the assembly, recovery and refurbishment of the Space Shuttle’s Solid Rocket Boosters, where he held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility including Chief Industrial Engineer and Director of Training and Continuous Improvement. He transferred to P&W Engine Services in East Hartford, Connecticut in 1998 as Connecticut Operations ACE Coordinator and Global ISO Coordinating Manager. In 2000 Mr. Hall joined the P&W Legal Services organization in East Hartford as Continuous Improvement Manager and ACE Coordinator where he remained until his retirement in 2005. More information.
Daniel J. Long
Dan has accumulated 33 years of experience in manufacturing and lean deployment. After more than 31 years of service, Dan retired from Pratt & Whitney in 2006 and joined a major Rotating Equipment OEM as the Global Process Innovation Mgr. responsible for developing and standardizing lean training material for deployment across all divisions. Prior to his retirement, Dan was part on the supplier Lean development team for the P&W International and Domestic Parts Center. His responsibilities included identifying opportunities for lead-time reduction and quality improvement and convincing suppliers in the use lean (ACE) tools to improve performance as well as preparing and conducting lean events.
