Larry
Loucka is creative consultant and trainer with strong team building
and problem solving skills and more than 20 years of practical experience
in a variety of business and cultural environments. His background
as a Materials Engineer, Quality Manager, and Production & Inventory
Control Manager gives him solid best-practice experience. Larry
has extensive hands-on experience in current Lean and Six Sigma
techniques and has applied these techniques in a variety of industries
including Aerospace, Electronics, Consumer Durables, and Automotive.
Larry has engaged leaders and workers of many worldwide organizations,
large and small, in implementing Lean, Six Sigma, and Supply Chain
Management with measurable results, some of which include:
- Working with a North American manufacturer implementing lean,
and six sigma in 10 different manufacturing plants. Kaizen blitz
activities have already saved over $3MM in the first 6 months
of 2003.
- Worked with a business consortium in the Bridgeport Connecticut
area providing assessment and kaizen support. Savings in labor
at one defense contractor totaled more than $350,000 in the last
6 months of 2002.
- Performed baseline business assessments at several dozen companies
over the past 5 years. One recent assessment resulted in a major
bottleneck being identified. After training and deploying Lean
Improvement teams, subsequent kaizens events that took place over
a 10 week period of time, reduced manufacturing lead times from
26 weeks to 16 weeks.
- Developed and delivered seven lean and six sigma courses for
small business in conjunction with the Connecticut Community Colleges.
Certified over 100 Six Sigma Green Belts in 2003.
- Lead an international Enterprise Resource Planning implementation
team. Inventory turns increased from 4 to 10 on sales of $250MM.
- Developing training and implementation strategies for Lean Sigma
Enterprise teams in US, Canada, Mexico, Ireland, UK, Thailand,
Kenya, and South Africa.
Prior to becoming a consultant, Larry was a Supplier Development
Manager for a $500MM defense and explosive devices contractor. He
has a BS in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic and
is a member of AME and SME.
