Walter Hall
Walter Hall has more than 37 years experience in Continuous Improvement, Industrial Engineering and Employee Training and Development, with 29 years in various management capacities. Mr. Hall joined Pratt & Whitney in 1982 at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida as an Industrial Engineer with USBI, a former P&W division responsible for the assembly, recovery and refurbishment of the Space Shuttle’s Solid Rocket Boosters, where he held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility including Chief Industrial Engineer and Director of Training and Continuous Improvement. He transferred to P&W Engine Services in East Hartford, Connecticut in 1998 as Connecticut Operations ACE Coordinator and Global ISO Coordinating Manager. In 2000 Mr. Hall joined the P&W Legal Services organization in East Hartford as Continuous Improvement Manager and ACE Coordinator where he remained until his retirement in 2005.
Throughout his career Mr. Hall has used his skill set to assist organizations in both manufacturing and office environments to reach and sustain performance improvements. Examples of some of his accomplishments include:
- Worked with USBI and NASA to design and construct a state of the art Assembly and Refurbishment Facility incorporating Lean Methodologies which resulted in multi million dollar savings and cost avoidances for the Space Shuttle Program.
- Used Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen techniques to revamp the technical training certification/recertification process and reduced decertification and costly one-on-one training by 90%.
- Coordinated P&W Engine Services ISO 9000 registrations and related Quality System procedures and worked with the third party ISO registrar to streamline the audit process.
- Coordinated the implementation of ACE in P&W Engine Services’ East Hartford, Cheshire and North Berwick facilities.
- Facilitated numerous Kaizen and Value Stream Mapping events in P&W’s Legal Services organization resulting in over $6 million in certified QStars savings in the areas of Outside Counsel Management and Internal Process Management.
- Coordinated the efforts which resulted in the achievement of ACE Site Gold for P&W Legal Services.
- Served as an ACE resource for other UTC divisions through training, sharing best practices and benchmarking.
In January 2006 Mr. Hall launched a consulting practice and continues to provide assistance to P&W and UTC organizations in their pursuit of Service Excellence
Mr. Hall earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Limestone College.
